Future of the Shire

There are things about Sutherland Shire we would never want to change. The Shire should be as safe, leafy and liveable decades from now as it is today.

The largest community consultation ever undertaken resulted in the Shire's strategic plan - Our Guide for Shaping the Shire to 2030. As a key player, council is actively involved in co-ordinating The Guide's implementation, including and reflecting its key priorities in the organisation's Management Plan, budgets and policies.

Our progress toward the vision and objectives outlined in The Guide is regularly measured and the results are published in the State of the Shire Reports.

Finally, the Directions in The Guide will transfer directly into the Sutherland Shire Local Environmental Plan 2006 - the principal legal instrument that regulates environmental planning.
